About Us

Our Vision

Over the past  17 years, Jill and Renee have worked out together using every possible strategy for keeping fit while raising children and working in the health industry.

” We always tried to help each other with new ideas to keep fit and when our kids were young, the best options we had for weight training were at the gym. If the kids got sick or we had other obligations eating up our gym time, the training fell by the wayside”.

In 2004, Jill and Renee discovered the kettlebell and with that discovery, a whole new world of possibilities opened up. It has made it so much easier to keep up with workouts no matter what else is going on in life. Because it is portable, workouts can be done anywhere…at the park, in the bedroom or family room, at the beach….wherever the kids may want to be.  When kids are sick and the gym is out of the question, no worries, the kettlebell is a handheld gym.

Born out of their own experience as moms trying to fit it all in, Jill and Renee came up with the concept of delivering simple workouts to women at home via the internet in a way that is economical both financially and time-wise.

“We felt like busy women of all ages, especially moms, could really appreciate an accessible exercise and nutrition program that is designed from a practical ‘been there, done that’ perspective. We also wanted to consider the whole woman in her many roles as an individual, a mom either single or married, a wife, a daughter, business person, employer, or employee.”

So Kettlebell Moms includes a support system through blogs with useful and current health information on anything and everything women deal with in their many roles. In the Kettlebell Moms Club, there is a forum in which to exchange ideas, experiences, successes, and frustrations. Our vision is to help solve the dilemma of fitness confusion and simplify the process of making your health and fitness goals a reality!

“Get Fit for Your Kids, Get Fit For You!”

Renee Woods

Renee Woods

Renee was born and raised in southern California, where the sun always shines. She spent her early years playing tennis, swimming, boating, and horseback riding. As she grew older, Renee discovered her competitive nature and enjoyed participating in organized sports like basketball, flag football, soccer, and racquetball. After college, Renee became interested in weight training and got involved with natural bodybuilding on a competitive level. She found it was a great way to stay active and strong.

In the last few years Renee has become focused on Russian Kettlebell training, earning the title of RKC, Certified Russian Kettlebell Instructor. She loves that this training technique involves all the components of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular strength, endurance, core strength and stability, and flexibility. Renee has found that with one or two kettlebells and a small space in her garage, home, or outdoors, she is able to maintain a high level of fitness with just a few hours of training each week. It is for this reason that Renee enjoys the privilege of sharing these techniques with others through individualized and group instruction, and now through KettlebellMoms.com.
